Bobbie Kay Barks, 76, of Sedgewickville died Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

She was born Feb. 29, 1948, in Patton to Julius E. and Leona J. Price Smith.

She and Larry C. Barks were married Oct. 31, 1965, at the Sedgewickville Lutheran Church.

She was a homemaker and spent the majority of her time tending to their property.

Bobbie had a passion for gardening and took great pride in tending to her beautiful flowers. She also was known for her beautiful singing.

Survivors include a son, Rodney Barks of Patton; daughter, Emily (Michael) Wahlers of Cape Girardeau; brother, John (Sandy) Smith; and two sisters, Rebecca Welker and Lela Shrum.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation and funeral were held Thursday, Aug. 29, at Ford and Liley Funeral Home in Patton. The service was officiated by the Rev. Randy Shrum.

Burial was at Sedgewickville Lixville Cemetery in Lixville.

Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to go towards the Sedgewickville Cemetery fund.
