In December 2024, Woodland School District superintendent Adrian Eftink announced he would be retiring effective the end of December 2025.
Following this announcement by Eftink, the district's Board of Education sought applications for the role of interim superintendent. The closing date for submitting an application for this specific position with the district was Jan. 9, according to board president Lance VanGennip.
The board met Jan. 13 to choose which applicants to interview for the position. The intent is to have the interim superintendent start with the district July 1.
