A resident on County Road 808 spoke to county commissioners in regard to gravel getting moved near her home. Large rocks have been placed in the middle of the road and an individual in a Bobcat was working on the road, digging and moving larger rocks, she said.
Commissioner Tim Shelby suggested having the sheriff contact the individual responsible and tell the person to stay off the road, which is west of Glen Allen. County Road 808 runs east/west from Missouri Highway 34 to State Supplemental Route DD.
Bollinger County Road and Bridge Department supervisor Brad Gregg is seeking dirt for roads, especially in the northern district.
“We’re in dire need of dirt to build roads up,” Gregg told the commissioners during the Sept. 3 meeting.
Those who are willing to help out in this capacity are encouraged to contact the county’s road and bridge department.
There are places in the southern portion of the county that the county can haul dirt from, according to Gregg.
County Road 374 will be closed Sept. 13 and 14 for re-sealing. There is about a quarter mile portion of the roadway that will be worked on over those two days, according to Bollinger County Commissioner Chad Hulvey.
“We’re going to have to do something on the ditch on (County Road) 458,” Hulvey said.
Presiding Commissioner Leo Arnzen reported County Road 408 needs mowing in the near future.
The next county commissioner’s meeting will take place Monday, Sept. 9, starting at 8 a.m.
