I will leave you with, as this is true motivation for my family and I., ‘We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.’ Romans 5:3

Mayor Trey Wiginton

City of Marble Hill, MO.”

The Aug. 29 update was the first public statement on Wiginton’s condition since his wife, Becky Wiginton, posted a message to social media Thursday, Aug. 22, two days after his medical ordeal began.

“Trey had a planned procedure on 8/12, he was released from the hospital on 8/16 with good condition,”

Mayor attended the regularly scheduled City of Marble Hill Board of Aldermen meeting Monday, Aug. 19.

“On 8/20, Trey went to the hospital with severe pain, he had emergency surgery on the night of 8/20 early morning 8/21,” B. Wiginton said. “He was left sedated and on a ventilator in ICU 8/21 and part of 8/22. He had another surgery on 8/22. He was in icu through late afternoon 8/24. He was transferred to a regular room, but did have an infection. He was released from the hospital on 8/30 and we arrived home in Marble Hill at 5:30pm. His condition is good, but his immunity is low and he has a surgical wound that is being treated.”

Asked if the mayor was allowed to have any visitors, his wife said there had been a limited amount of family and close friends during his hospital stay.

“Visiting has been limited while he was in the hospital as he does have an infection, weak immune system, and the medical team wanted to keep his stress level reduced,” B. Wiginton said. “Obviously our Pastor and leadership team from our church did visit as well as our family and very close friends.”
